We all love our entertainment and in looking for what was "going on in 1979" on TV, I ran across a few surprises I wasn't aware of.  Some of these I didn't remember and some of them I just didn't know.  So I'll give these to you before I do the "1979 shows".  I hope you find them interesting too.

TV "Events"

  • March 19- C-Span. a United States cable channel is launched.
  • September 7 - ESPN begins broadcasting sports 24/7 and was the first cable channel to be launched.
  • December 1 - The Movie Channel begins broadcasting movies 24/7.
  • First color television broadcasts in Greece.
