Bucky's Movie List 2007

All the movies I saw in 2007, in the order I liked them.  Enjoy!

  1. Once (Maybe because I'm a musician, but this little movie moved me.  Music, struggle, love, hurt, joy, hope… I love this movie!  Watch the second scene in which the street musician is all alone, at night, with no audience, and see the passion he puts into his song.  In another scene, the guy and girl sit at a piano in a music store and learn a song together.  The song is "Falling Slowly" and it deserves to win the Oscar for best song.)
  2. The Bucket List (Nicholson and Freeman were great.)
  3. Juno (Quirky, fun, touching)
  4. No Country For Old Men (Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem rock!  Jones could have been nominated for this role instead of "In the Valley of Elah."… or both.)
  5. 3:10 to Yuma (Russell Crowe deserved a Supporting Actor nomination)
  6. There Will Be Blood (Daniel Day Lewis can act!  Stronger plot would have moved it way up)
  7. Across the Universe (The Beatles music brought to life. What else could you ask for?)
  8. Talk to Me (Don Cheadle was robbed!  Deserved a Best Actor nomination.)
  9. Amazing Grace (Albert Finney deserved a Supporting Actor nomination)
  10. The Great Debaters (Great story and ensemble)
  11. Elizabeth: The Golden Age (Kate Blanchett rocks!)
  12. Michael Clayton
  13. Atonement
  14. Grindhouse (The chick had a gun for a leg for crying out loud!  And how'd that other chick stay on the hood during the entire car chase?  And why couldn't I have been at the Texas Chili Parlor during filming?)
  15. Hairspray (Very fun movie!)
  16. Black Snake Moan (Not sure why this one didn't do better.  Sam Jackson rules.)
  17. Hot Fuzz (Lots of fun)
  18. I Am Legend
  19. Charlie Wilson's War
  20. August Rush (corny, but touching with good music)
  21. Zodiac
  22. The Kingdom
  23. American Gangster
  24. In the Valley of Elah (Again Tommy Lee Jones is awesome.)
  25. No Reservations
  26. Knocked Up
  27. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (I thought Phillip Seymore Hoffman was even better in this role than in "Charlie Wilson's War", but great in both.)
  28. 1408
  29. Resurrecting the Champ (Again Samuel L. Jackson shows what a great actor he is, playing a much older man.)
  30. We Own the Night
  31. 30 Days of Night
  32. Sweeney Todd (Would not have nominated Johnny Depp for Best Actor, even though he's one of my favorite actors, and one of the best working.)
  33. The Darjeeling Limited
  34. The Savages
  35. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story ("It doesn't say Cox unless I say it tastes like Cox."  Best line of the film, and it doesn't even appear in the film, just the trailer.  Silly fun.)
  36. P.S. I Love You
  37. 28 Weeks Later
  38. 300 (very interesting visual effect)
  39. Wild Hogs
  40. The Last Legion
  41. La Vie En Rose (Marion Cotillard was great)
  42. Live Free or Die Hard
  43. The Brave One
  44. Gone Baby Gone (Ed Harris was great)
  45. Bella
  46. The Water Horse
  47. 2 Days in Paris
  48. The Shooter
  49. Fracture
  50. Waitress
  51. Breach
  52. Rendition
  53. Halloween
  54. Blades of Glory (Will Farrell cracks me up!)
  55. Dan in Real Life
  56. Eastern Promises (would not have nominated Viggo)
  57. Stardust
  58. Music and Lyrics
  59. Superbad
  60. Mr. Brooks
  61. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
  62. Catch and Release
  63. Perfect Stranger
  64. Premonition
  65. Awake
  66. Becoming Jane (not a bad movie, I just think I've seen it several times before)
  67. License to Wed
  68. The Messengers
  69. The Wendell Baker Story
  70. Pathfinder
  71. Hostel 2
  72. The Hills Have Eyes 2

    And the only 2 films I didn't like…

  73. I'm Not There (Only 2 things kept this from taking the bottom spot on the list: Kate Blanchett and
  74. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (And I really wanted to like this movie.  Oh well.)
